Friends, as we take this little journey of encouragement, I want to say that part of being a Christian is representing Christ to the world. We are challenged to be salt- to bring out the beautiful flavors in the world around us. I can’t think of a better way to do this than to encourage one another. It still amazes me how throwing encouragement into a tough situation can radically change the flavor of that situation. It is so important to encourage, your boss, your family, your friends, your Pastors, your cleaner and guess what, you can even encourage yourself!
This isn’t a good idea folks, it’s a fantastic thing to do- can I encourage you today to go and encourage someone in your world? Don’t ask who, or how, just see an opportunity and take it. You may even be amazed how encouraging someone else can change the flavor of your own day.
In the meantime, I want to leave you with this verse, 1 Thessalonians 5:11. Folks, we are family, let's lift one another up, let's encourage each other, let's flavor the world around us, even if just for a moment.
As I write this, I cannot finish it, or in fact continue with this little series, without giving a respectful nod to our Pastor’s Basil and Yvonne DeMello. We want to honor you both because you have taught and encouraged and re-encouraged our family, year after year, working intentionally to build a culture of encouragement among us. We have a huge debt to you both for the work you have done. Thank you.
