A handful of people,
courage in obedience and
a whole lot of faith
It all began in 2007, when Pastors Basil and Yvonne felt God calling them to start a church.
It was a combination of prophetic words from Cindy Jacobs - that God was calling us to build His church that the gates of hell shall not prevail against, and that we are to reach out to the marginalised and the forgotten - and from Pastor Edmund Chan in Singapore. There was also the inspiration from how The Dream Centre in Los Angeles operated to bring transformation to the community around them.
As we moved in obedience, Jesus began to unfold the blueprint He had in mind for us in the city of Perth. With a small crew of dedicated people, despite being inexperienced in “street ministry”, Eagles City Mission was born.
Over the years our church has seen many people’s lives changed in incredible ways. Some have been freed from addictions. People with traumatic pasts and hurts have had their lives restored. Others have come from life on the streets to now having stable jobs and homes. All of this can only be possible through God.
People who were once trapped, rejected and broken have experienced freedom, acceptance and joy. And we give God all the glory for His miraculous works. It is amazing what the love of our Heavenly Father can do.
Our role in God’s master plan is simple - to treat everyone who walks through our doors like family, and to show compassion, kindness and grace, just as Jesus showed us.
We yearn to see Perth changed in a big way. Not simply by money, infrastructure or government projects, but by the power of God’s love.
